Reviews are Friends...Not Posts

I know pointing you to reviews of my books by other bloggety types is not a substitute for my own clever posts. I'm going to keep doing it now and again though.

My good friend and brother-in-law, Brent Wescott, over at Building Castles on the Beach just wrote a review for my book along with several others. He is apparently a slow reader (who knew?), but I'm glad he finally finished, liked the book, and got the surprise ending.

The Crystal Bridge also got reviewed at Word Spelunking. Isn't that the greatest name for a book blog? Strap on your headlamp and explore the beautiful mysteries that are hidden deep within the words. She also has a cool name. Aeicha. I have no idea how to pronounce it, but I have always liked different names. I want to name a child Tadlan or Linea...so there. I also let Aeicha give away a copy of Zombies at the Door, Planning for the Inevitable. She did more than that, she went and reviewed that book too. How awesome is that? I'll tell you how awesome...much!

I should have more reviews to share shortly. I have an interview for a podcast or two this week. I also plan on putting the velociraptor on youtube soon...against all my better judgement. I am also very close to starting book two of the Lost Shards series, the sequel to The Crystal Bridge, called The Glass Spiral. I'm getting excited to write it.

If you've read the first book, go ahead and keep reading. If you haven't...well, shame on you and don't keep reading until you have. Spoilers ahead!!

Book two begins where the last one left off. Here are some questions that will be answered:

Will they ever make it home? I don't know yet.

Will Rho make another appearance? Yes, of course.

Will Rho be the main villain this time? No.

Will Lyle find happiness and true love? Yes and yes, eventually.

Will more people die? Possibly...sorry.

Will we see Aren's and Kaden's powers evolve? Definitely a YES!! So Excited to push them further.

Who will be important? Aren and Kaden will be big as you expect. James will be there in the beginning and Lyle in the end. Dveldor, Hasla, and Taggers will show up for a bit too. But, look for Penny to play a large role along with a couple new god-like characters. I can't tell you any more without giving anything away. Oh, it's gonna be good!

I can't wait to read your sequel. Perhaps I can get an ARC or be the equivalent of a beta reader. Then I could vocalize my opinions to you in emails before the book lands on a shelf near me. :)

Aww, thanks for the bloggy and name love! My name is a tricky bugger uh? The problem with my name is that people want to make it more complicated than it is by adding all sorts of weird pronunciations, sounds, and letters. Yes letters! There's no L or R in my name people *eye roll *. Anyways, it's actually super easy to say, it's pronounced "A", just say the letter A like when you sing the aphabet, then "shu" like "shut" without the T...got it? Now put em together and you have "A-shu". Aeicha. See? Super easy and not at all a pain in the rear, especially when you're 6 and no teacher can get it right *bigger eyeroll* ;)

Ok I'm done rambling about my name. Yay for book 2 tidbits! And super yay for more Lyle...I may have a slight fangirl crush on the young king *blushes*

I look forward to reading it someday (soon) :D

P.S. I apologize for any stupid spelling mistakes in this comment. I'm typing it on my phone and the touchscreen is not T-Rex compatible...small arms ya know? lol

Yeah, at the rate I read, you might as well just send me the first chapter now and I'll catch up by buying it when it comes out.

And you didn't mention my Twilight reference in this post. Why? :)

@Michael- I'm getting excited to write it. Things are coming together in my head and I have some surprises left in me. I'll take you up on the beta reading. That would be excellent.

@Aeicha- I was close in my head to pronouncing your name correctly. That makes me happy. Lyle is pretty awesome. Funny. I originally planned on having it be Aren and Taggers, but Aren seemed like she deserved a bigger love interest and Lyle was born.

@Brent- You weren't the first to see some correlations with Twilight, but I think they are small and don't last long.

@Elizabeth- Welcome! The skyline is New York City. I took the photo from the ferry. I don't live even remotely close to NY, but the photo was too pretty not to use.

I still can't open it. I want to, but the forces of understanding and lack of know-how has gotten the best of me. Unless you wrote it in $(*YEWBWIGRE WY(IYTEIWUE REGBR WYTE(W which is fine, but my decoder ring is on the fritz. Any suggestions?

What do you mean you are almost ready to start writing the sequel? Start already so you can be done with it so I can read it. Jeesh.

@Scott- How about I just send you the paperback copies? Email me your address and I'll send them out next week.

@Doug- I know, I know...I'm such a slacker.

I'm planning on picking your book up after Christmas. (I'm hoping to finally get an E-reader then.) You will probably see a bunch of sales then. I read somewhere that Christmas day is the biggest shopping day for E-book. I'm looking forward to reading this!

Thanks Alyson!! I really am hoping that things pick up after Christmas. I'll have to remind everyone just before and after. ;)
